'I wasn't easy to work with': Demi Lovato recalls 'bender' that led to her punching her dancer... as she opens up about troubled years in Simply Complicated trailer

The star reveals near the end of the trailer "I'm coming up on five and a half years of sobriety".

Demi Lovato shared an early look at her YouTube-exclusive documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, on Tuesday (Oct 10), with a trailer that weaves in and out of her rise, struggles and future as both an artist and a person.

Lovato's new LP Tell Me You Love Me released late last month. The one thing I'll never stop doing is being honest. And multiple people, good friend Nick Jonas included, spoke about the 2010 incident where Demi punched one of her backup dancers and gave them a black eye. In this new documentary, however, she and her loved ones talk about this time with more detail and vulnerability than ever before.

At the start of the trailer, Demi says to the camera, "I actually had anxiety over this interview".

"When I'm comfortable in my own skin, I feel confident. And when I feel sexy, watch out". But I don't owe anybody anything.' She wrote. The album charted at number five in the United Kingdom and number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
