The other new special SUV variant from BMW is the X6 M Sport Edition.
One of them is the X5 Special Edition, which combines the M Sport package with Dakota leather seat upholstery or Alcantara in combination with Anthracite/Black and M logos.
Those who want to go a step further with BMW's Individual leather upholstery have a choice of five colours - although the German manufacturer has yet to confirm what these are.
The Long Beach Blue metallic exterior paint shade and Carbon Fiber interior trim strips are the exclusive elements of the M Sport Edition package for the BMW X6. The Special Edition trim is available on all X5 models except the BMW X5 M50d.
Along with it, you can also specify the Carbon Black and Mineral White body paints (also metallic). This last item comprises 20-inch alloy wheels, an M Sport steering wheel, adaptive M suspension, an "M" bodykit, all-round parking sensors and a more sporting setup for the automatic gearbox.
New vehicle sales aren't exactly booming at the moment, so expect the arrival of "Special Edition" models to start proliferating further in the coming months as auto makers try to tempt buyers to sign on the dotted line.
In the BMW X6 camp, buyers get the option of getting the so-called X6 M Sport Edition.
