Engineer Stabbed to Death on His Way to Meet Girlfriend in Bengaluru

Pranay Mishra, a 28-year-old from Odisha, was on his way to his girlfriend's house early Monday when he was murdered.

According to media reports, Pranay parties at his friend's residence in Begur on Sunday night and returned home around 2.45 am. Later he called his girlfriend and asked her to meet him.

South East deputy commissioner of police, MB Borolingaiah told reporters, "The techie has been identified as Pranoy Mishra".

Pranay Mishra, from Bhubaneswar and a resident of Tavarekere, was on his way to meet his woman friend and colleague who stayed in the neighbourhood when he was killed. He was stabbed many times in the stomach and neck, ToI indicated. Some passers-by rushed him to hospital where he was declared dead.

The reason behind killing Mishra is yet to be known.

CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the junction has been collected by the police.

Mishra came to Bengaluru after he completed his B.Tech degree in Computer Science.

A DAY after an employee of IT firm Accenture was stabbed to death in Tavarakere area of southeast Bengaluru, police on Tuesday described the murder as a road rage case and arrested one of the two suspects. Mishra's sister Prachi Mishra who is living in Bengaluru with her husband has registered a complaint with police.
