Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan could be set for a move to the Premier League with Arsenal

Arsenal are monitoring Arda Turan's situation at Barcelona as the Turkish midfielder edges towards a potential exit, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror reports that Arsène Wenger's long-standing interest in the Turkish worldwide is to be realised with the 30-year-old determined to leave the Camp Nou after not featuring in Barcelona's opening eleven games.

Alcacer has also been deemed surplus to requirements at Camp Nou, as he has not featured for the club since August, despite Ousmane Dembele being ruled out for the rest of the year due to injury.

The midfielder has struggled for regular first-team football at the Nou Camp since his move from Atletico Madrid in July 2015 and he is yet to make an appearance this season.

It seems Barca are happy to see him go as the Daily Star claim they will offer him to potential suitors with Galatasaray heavily linked with a move for their former player in recent months.

The Turkish publication suggests we are in pole position to secure a deal after opening talks with Turan's agent about a possible move to north London this winter.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants a replacement for Mesut Ozil, who looks certain to be leaving the Emirates on a free transfer, and Turan could fit the bill perfectly.

The Turkey worldwide, who joined Barca from Atletico Madrid in 2015, has not featured for the Catalan club this term.
