Ric Flair is still in critical condition - and suffering from "multiple organ problems", this according to the wrestler's fiancee.
Flair, 68, was brought to the hospital for "severe abdominal pain" and had surgery to clear out an intestinal blockage after he was placed in a medically induced coma.
The former 16-time world champion also said that his daughter Charlotte Flair was told before his surgery that he wouldn't make it and had no clue that his health was in such trouble.
Flair was able to survive the surgery, have a pacemaker installed, and get through the immediate dangers that he was facing. He began physical therapy in the hospital and is now using a stationary bike. Hogan flew in and visited Flair in the hospital, with Flair reading a message that Hogan wrote to him: "The number of your days shall be filled".
"I'm not out of the woods yet", he told People in this week's issue. While wrestling results may the predetermined, much of the pain is very real. "Love you my brother, you are 'The Man".
Alcohol also served as a tonic of sorts when it came to coping with his injuries and intense physical pain from his job. He said that he knows that he'll need to show people that he's really changed his lifestyle, but he wants to do motivational speaking and teach others that they need to pay attention to what's going on in their lives. "I never want to go through this again". Flair, who is now in an Atlanta convalescent center, currently needs a nurse to help steady his shaking hands just so he can sip water from a glass.
"I didn't think I was an alcoholic, but obviously I was", Flair told People.
