A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was killed in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Arnia sector of Jammu district in Jammu and Kashmir state on Friday, media reports said.

"Pakistan is violating ceasefire out of frustration and we are giving appropriate reply to them", the IG told reporters on the sidelines of wreath laying ceremony of BSF jawan who attained marytrdom in cross border firing.

Pareekh said that intermittent fire continued from both sides from since mid night.

He said constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh of 192 bn BSF, sustained bullet injuries in abdomen in Pakistani troops firing at Shahnaz post early in the morning. The BSF troops retaliated by using same calibre weapon.

Pakistan has been resorting to cease fire violations. One civilian is reported injured in the firing which took place in Arnia.

Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory action by the BSF earlier during the day.

Pakistan has accused India of committing more than 700 ceasefire violations in the first nine months of this year which has resulted in the killing of 32 Pakistani civilians. "The deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and worldwide human rights and humanitarian laws", Foreign Affairs Ministry of Pakistan said.
