Man Utd news: Romelu Lukaku thanks Jose Mourinho for incredible backing after Basel win

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Luke Shaw has recovered from a foot injury, but he is unclear when the full-back will return to the Manchester United line-up.

Pogba faces around six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained in the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel on Tuesday night and Mourinho has "no sympathy" for the player.

When asked how long he expected to be without Pogba, Mourinho replied: "I don't know". The weekend match is the only match that I am thinking about. It's simple and objective that he's not playing this weekend.

Pogba was out for three weeks in March with a hamstring issue, and it is understood he was given instructions by United's medical staff on how to strengthen the muscle to ward off further problems.

For United, obviously Paul Pogba is the big one, and the latest time table as him "gone till November", apologies to Wycleaf Jean.

But Liverpool legend Gerrard insists Pogba's hamstring problem is bad news for Manchester United despite having capable options to fill the Frenchman's void in the starting line-up.

"Marcos Rojo is still in the timings of such an important injury, everything went really well, but is not training in a normal session, just parts of it".

But it has emerged Pogba has instead been receiving treatment from a personal trainer.

"Herrera, Fellaini, Carrick, they are waiting - they are waiting for a real chance to start matches and to play matches from the beginning, and they are ready". Pogba has struck up a friendship with Lemar and has sent him Instagram messages suggesting he is brokering a deal to bring Lemar to Old Trafford.

Mourinho had more to be pleased about when Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score on his Champions League debut, but the Portuguese coach had a word of caution for his players at the final whistle.

The former Juventus midfielder has made an impressive start to the Premier League season following a return of two goals and two assists in four top-flight fixtures.
