The French authorities have launched a counter-terrorism inquiry after a man wielding a knife attacked a soldier of Operation Sentinelle patrolling the Chatelet metro station in Paris.
According to information from local media sources, citing the police services, the assailant, quickly neutralized by the soldier, was shouting remarks referring to Allah.
The attack occurred at 6:30 am local time Friday morning at the Chatelet metro station, and the man was arrested without causing injury to the soldier.
