Fans of video games can rejoice: the question will be finally considered by the worldwide olympic Committee.

The youth's massive interest in eSports could be a huge draw for the Olympics, which is something that Estanguet sees as a good opportunity to invest in.

In an interview with the "Associated Press," Tony Estanguet told them he is going to hold talks with representatives from eSports and the (IOC).

"Look, there's 11 years before the Games, so it wouldn't hurt if they took a year or even six months instead of rushing", said Jed Parriott, an organizer of the NOlympics LA group.

ESports continues to grow, however, and inclusion in the 2024 Olympics would deliver a great deal of authentication to it being an actual sport. It is transcending so far, in fact, that is is actually being considered for Paris's Olympic Summer Games. "Let's try if we can find some bridges", said Estanguet.

"I don't want to say no outright".

It was Los Angeles that initially floated the idea for including eSports in the Olympics The current issue with the event is that it has witnessed a decline in viewers between the ages 18 and 49.

The discussions on the sports that will be part of the Olympic Games 2024 will be launched in 2019, but nothing will be definitely decided before 2020, or after the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Paris will be awarded the 2024 games next month at an International Olympic Committee gathering in Lima, Peru, barring any setbacks. "I think it's interesting ... to better understand what the process is why it is such a success".

"There is some time to look at it, to interact, to engage", said Estanguet.

While the 39-year-old French Olympic medalist certainly sees a future for eSports and video games in the Olympics, the IOC on the other hand aren't as convinced. I think it is interesting to have a dialogue with the global olympic Committee, with the community, eSports, and to better understand the process and the reasons for its success , "said Tony Estanguet".

Esport tournaments feature teams of players competing in various games, including League of Legends, Dota 2, Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros., and more.
