NY [U.S.]: "Oh no" echoed across the globe as Usain Bolt's final race at the world championships ended in him getting injured and hobbling on the track, whimpering in agony.

"They kept us in the call room extremely long in our running kits, we were getting cold and it's not the warmest weather over here and they kept us a while".

"It was cold and there was 40 minutes and two medal presentations before our run".

The Jamaican quartet of Tyquendo Tracey, Julian Forte, Micheal Campbell and Bolt led the eight-team second heat from beginning to the end. I don't want to say this but I understand we need to be ready early but I think we took our clothes off a little too early.

Bolt had earlier missed out on his bid to retain his 100m title earlier in the week, losing out to Gatlin and silver medallist Christian Coleman.

"We're world champions, world champions", Mitchell-Blake said through tears of happiness.

On the other hand, the Gold Medal hopefuls tem United States of America with 100 metres Gold and Bronze medal winners Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman were expected to win as they rain in their 2nd and 4th leg but ended up losing to the home team - Britain. In fact Usain said to me, "Yohan, I think this is insane".

Bolt collapsed on the track, as the British, American and Japanese teams soared ahead to secure their first-, second- and third-place podium spots, respectively. They had to race in the last lap.

Bolt's farewell hasn't gone according to plan after he was surprisingly beaten in the 100m final which was the last individual race of his career. I am sorry he (Bolt) got this injury. I think we have introduced him as a villain.

Jamaican team doctor Dr Kevin Jones told AFP that Bolt had suffered from "cramp in his left hamstring". The fans loved seeing Usain Bolt run one last time, but it was hard to see him end with an injury.

At the same time, Allyson Felix, running the second leg on the winning team, earned a record 15th medal at the world championships in a career going back to 2005.
