Makarfi Inaugurates PDP Caretaker Committee In Anambra

DELTA State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has predicted a presidential win for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections.

He said that the party's leadership was already witnessing some form of indiscipline from some members, and warned that any undisciplined act would be sanctioned promptly.

Ahead of the November governorship election in Anambra state, Sen.

"PDP is a party that is fully republican; it is a party where aspirations and inspirations could be accomplished".

According to her, the PDP will provide a visionary candidate who has clear and well thought out programme for the state.

He said: "APC is now dying and is nearly dead".

Makarfi charged the reconciliation committee to extend its assignment to the founding members of the PDP, stressing that the dragnet should be extended beyond those that left the party in 2015.

Mr. Makarfi gave the warning while inaugurating a 37-member Caretaker Committee for the Anambra chapter of the party on Tuesday in Abuja.

Mr. Adeyeye recalled that the party had on July 27 dissolved all the parallel PDP executives in Anambra.

"We plead with members who have left the party to come back so that all shall join hands for the hard task in the months ahead".

He said that as an organized party, he had confidence in the party's leaders of the various sub-committees that we will be able to deliver a successful National Convention that we can all be proud of.

The governor spoke yesterday at PDP secretariat in Abuja during the inaugural meeting of the committee, adding that the convention would be an acid test of the party's readiness for the election.

In a statement by its Chairman, Cleopas Moses, Keke Godspower and Macbere Osom, Chairman, Secretary and Publicity Secretary respectively, the party noted that Senator Makarfi's experience, dedication and wise leadership, will no doubt propel the party to greater height as he begins the rejuvenation of the party from defeat to victory. With the two factions spoiling for war, stakeholders are watching with keen interest to see how far the reconciliation can go.

He urged the state committee to mobilize enough to effectively restore PDP's popularity in the state.
