As the cold shroud of death falls upon the land of the living, Azeroth's mortal inhabitants shiver with fear-Knights of the Frozen Throne™, the new expansion for Blizzard Entertainment's smash-hit digital card game Hearthstone®, has arrived.
What that all means is this: if you want to increase your odds of getting a Death Knight - which I imagine a lot of you do since that's kinda the theme of this expansion - you should open the packs first, because there will be more Death Knight cards available in your collectible Legendary pool. If you tackle these encounters and emerge victorious against the Lich King himself you'll earn a random Death Knight Hero card for free. The expansion is live in the Americas (and coming soon in the rest of the world), so go enjoy the chill.
Maybe that Lich King isn't such a bad fellow after all.
Knights of the Frozen Throne takes players to Northrend, where they'll meet an untimely demise, only to be raised by the Lich King and granted terrifying new powers from beyond the grave.
The latest expansion for Hearthstone, Blizzard's immensely popular digital card game, will be released on August 10th in the USA and August 11th in Europe.
In addition to 135 brand new cards spread across classes, the new expansions will bring us new game mechanics, including Lifesteal and Legendary Hero Cards that'll transform heroes into Death Knights.
The last cards of the set have also been revealed.
Meanwhile, players who purchased "Knights of the Frozen Throne" before August 10 are entitled to get 50 card packs and an exclusive Frostmourne card.
