Spotify Comes to Xbox One Today

Spotify to hit Xbox One today; Here's how to set it up

Spotify For Xbox Is Live

Well, you won't have to wait much longer to try it as Xbox Marketing Chief Aaron Greenberg just tweeted that the app will be available to download today.

Browse playlists from different genres and moods. That means, even if you're playing a game, you can still have streaming music playing rather than the game's own soundtrack.

To download the app just head to the Xbox Store and search for Spotify.

We haven't been able to test the app out yet, but if it's anything like the PlayStation 4 app that launched in March 2015, you'll be able to access the full library of Spotify music and playlists to have running behind whatever else you're doing on the console. The addition of Spotify on Xbox One should make it easy for users to play their own music seamlessly as they enjoy gaming on the platform. Or check out new releases.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox menu.

If you've been anticipating Spotify hitting the Xbox One and don't want to waste any time in getting it, here's how to get it (when it goes live).

You can use Spotify Connect to control the music from your mobile device.

Similarly to how Spotify works on PS4, Microsoft says the Xbox One version of the app will be able to function in the background, pumping out the jams without taking up any precious screen real estate. Users also have the option to use the Spotify app to wirelessly control their music, using Spotify Connect on the desktop, or the Spotify app on phones or tablets.
