Not only Deepika, but Varun Dhawan is also equally excited and happy to work with the famous director. According to reports, Deepika Padukone approached the director to cast her in the film despite knowing the fact that she would get only a small role to play since it is romantic comedy.
Mumbai: Recently, the no-more-chocolate-boy of tinsel town, Varun Dhawan announced his next venture "October" with National award-winning director Shoojit Sircar, who was applauded for his directorial 'Piku'.
Since then everybody is eagerly waiting for Shoojit to announce Varun's leading lady. "Soojit da Ronnie and Juhi have always made good cinema Im very lucky to get a chance to work with them", Varun captioned a picture he's shared on Insta with the ace film maker.
Shoojit Sircar talking about the film said, "It is not a love story but his take on love".
He further described it as "a very unusual, unconventional kind of a story" in the "slice-of-life and romance space".
While the storyline looks interesting, we really hope Deepika becomes the lead actress of this film.
October which is touted to be a rom-com majorly revolves around Varun's character and hence Deepika will not have the meaty parts that she is used to.
Meanwhile, both the actors are busy with their upcoming projects.
Padukone is now shooting for Padmavati and Dhawan is wrapping up Judwaa 2 opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
Deepika is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, which also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
