The worldwide forward sustained an injury during his side's 3-0 victory over Arsenal at the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing on Saturday and had to be taken to a hospital, reports Efe.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has hit out at Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina for the challenge that forced Pedro to come off during Saturday's 3-0 friendly victory over the Gunners.

Further examinations have been conducted and the Italian tactician has revealed the forward has "multiple fractures" to his face although he "should train in 10 days" with a mask.

Speaking ahead of the International Champions Cup match against Bayern Munich in Singapore, Conte offered an update on the wellbeing of the 29-year-old former Barcelona player. "He didn't go to win the ball".

Conte had said after the win: "Pedro went to the hospital and for sure he should be OK but I think he had concussion".

Conte replied "absolutely not" when asked if he believed Ospina to be at fault for the incident.

But, the Premier League winners confirmed on Sunday (July 23) morning that the winger will have to return to England for further observation and will miss Chelsea's rest of the Asia tour.

Boss Antonio Conte had said the Spain global would remain on the club's pre-season tour with Chelsea due to travel to Singapore today.

"[The] players are playing one competition more and we are working very well to prepare in the right way".
