Marvel Powers United VR: Disney unveils its first Marvel virtual reality game

Other characters shown were Carol Danvers Captain Marvel and Ronan the Accuser.

The company has now revealed Powers United VR, a virtual reality game that will let you immerse yourself in a virtual version of Marvel's massive universe. No word was given on if the game would be compatible with all of Oculus current and future hardware plans. You can play as various Marvel characters, from the Incredible Hulk to Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy. He has a few long-range attacks, such as the ground stomp, but his main attacks center around getting up close, grabbing dudes and pummeling them into a pulp. As Rocket, you'll get to guns as you blast everything around you. The announcement came during the "Level Up" gaming panel, which also included updates about Star Wars: Battlefront II and Insomniac Games' upcoming Spider-Man game.

As you probably noticed, in recent times the world is desperately short of entertainment based on the comic book by Marvel, so Marvel to the rescue and announces another game. While the game will be launching exclusively for the Oculus Rift (which recently saw a noticeable price drop), it's worth noting that players will need to have a fairly capable PC to run the game. The good thing, however, is that it will make great use of Oculus' Touch controllers.

Facebook, however, has been rather secretive regarding the sales for the Oculus Rift, and with exclusivity deals like the one for Marvel Powers United, it's not hard to see why some gamers would want to avoid supporting the Rift.
