Just after musician Kid Rock tweeted out the possibility of Senate run in Michigan, Olympic gold medalist and transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner told a NY radio audience she is eyeing a Senate run in California.
She says "I have considered it (politics)".
"As ABC News reports, Caitlyn Jenner made her (possible) political aspirations known during an interview on the Cats Roundtable" radio show with John Catsimatidis on 970 AM. "Over the next six months or so, I got to find out where I can do a better job". Can I do a better job from the outside ... or are you better off from the inside. "We are in the process of determining that", said Jenner. "And yeah, but I would look for a senatorial run".
Transgender reality television star, Caitlyn Jenner, is "considering" running for the senate in California.
In June, USA TODAY reported on Jenner's political views and her on-again, off-again relationship with Trump.
"That's kind of my issue", she said.
"Can I do a better job on the outside?"
Jenner has loudly voiced her support for the Republican party but has taken issue with the GOP stance on LGBTQ issues.
If Jenner is successful, she is unlikely to be welcomed by everyone in the party, as her comments come two days after a GOP Congressman spoke out against the financial provision of gender reassignment for US troops, comparing transgender troops to castrated slaves. "Working the perimeter of the political scene?" she said. Or, are you better from the inside? So, it seems like Republican reality stars think they can take a shot at politics and succeed! That, I realize is in anyone's mind is different, but you asked me what I think. Jenner did not give many specifics, but she became the latest celebrity to express an interest in public office during the Trump era.
Jenner previously explained that although the Democrats would be undoubtedly better at championing LGBT rights, she was a supporter of the Republican party and feels she should offer her help to them. "And if that's the case, if I find us on the inside, I would seriously look at it".
