Taiwanese tennis player Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴) and her Romanian partner Monica Niculescu were overwhelmed in the women's doubles final at Wimbledon on Saturday by their rivals Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina of Russian Federation.
In an epic clash, Poland's Lukasz Kubot and Brazil's Marcelo Melo defeated Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (2), 3-6, 13-11 in the final to clinch the Wimbledon's men's doubles title.
It gave Vesnina and Makarova a third grand slam title together, and a first at Wimbledon.
It was incessant from the second seeds, as their opponents wilted, and the match was over in a mere 54 minutes.
They also won the 2013 French Open and 2014 US Open women's doubles crowns.
Kubot 35, and Melo 33 were broken in the 11th game of their match by Austrian Marach and Croatian Pavic and lost the first set before bouncing back to claim the next two sets.
Her last one came in 2008.
