He became the first defensive lineman in school history to score a touchdown out of an offensive formation so it makes sense that Clemson defensive end Christian Wilkins would be up for the Paul Hornung Award which goes to college football's most versatile player.

Mike McCray, the senior linebacker from OH, is one of 51 to have his name included in the Butkus Award watch list released Monday. Forty-six student-athletes made the cut for this year's watch list.

Johnson recorded three 100-yard rushing performances last season and four games with 100 or more total yards. His 61-yard touchdown catch vs. Vanderbilt from Tyler Ferguson was the longest of his career, and he added more fireworks in the return game. The Fayetteville product was the only player to win SEC Freshman of the Week twice.

Players on this year's Watch List accounted for 10,724 rushing yards, 16,853 receiving yards, 13,548 kickoff return yards, 4,092 punt return yards, and 394 total tackles in 2016.

A fifth MI football player has landed on a preseason watch list. The Butkus Award has been given out annually since 1985, and has been awarded by The Butkus Foundation since 2008. This will be The Paul Hornung Award's second year as an associate member of the prestigious National College Football Awards Association.
