According to the Auto giant, Honda Accord 2018 will be the first First Wheel Drive sedan with a 10-speed transmission. But Reuters pointed out that the new, 10th-generation Accord, much like the rival Toyota Camry due to launch in July, has several key selling points that set it apart from its predecessor, such as additional horsepower, improved fuel economy, European-style design language, and new safety features.
A large-scale review Honda Accord is announced for the US market. A new hybrid will also be offered with a 2.0L Atkinson cycle engine with over 40% thermal efficiency. While the normal motor makes 189PS and 260Nm of peak torque, the larger motor can give out a maximum torque of 250PS and 370Nm.
The second variant is a 2.0 litre engine with 16 valve DOHC direct-injected turbo with i-VTEC valvetrain which will be connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The sleeker body sits on a lighter chassis, that is claimed to be more rigid than the one used in the current model. Inside, the 2018 Accord has gained nearly 2 inches (51 mm) of rear leg room - while cargo space has jumped 3.2 cubic feet for the Hybrid as the battery has been relocated under the floor. And for those wanting a more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient Accord, the new 2018 Accord Hybrid will be available in Hybrid, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring trims.
Honda said 1.1 million of the recalls would take place in the USA and another 1 million around the world.
The interiors include a 50mm elongated wheelbase while the width has also been increased by 10mm.
Honda Sensing includes collision-mitigation braking system; lane-departure warning; road-departure mitigation; adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow; and new traffic-sign recognition. The vehicle will also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.
