Slain state trooper being laid to rest Saturday

Calling hours for Nichole Davis are Sunday afternoon at the Fergerson Funeral Home in North Syracuse. It included officers from the Evans Mills and Theresa police departments, officers who worked with Trooper Davis. Calling hours are being held there from 4 8 p.m. today.

"The entire NY family grieves today for trooper Joel Davis, who was shot and killed in the line of duty Sunday night in Theresa, Jefferson County", Mr. Cuomo said in a news release.

Police said a friend of Nichole Walters also had been shot, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
