The settlement, called Amichai, will house the some 300 Jewish residents evicted from the Amona outpost after the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that the settlement was built illegally on privately owned Palestinian land.

In an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency past year, he said he had not had any contacts with Palestinians since his time at the yeshiva, when he came into contact with laborers. In that period, some 250 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire.
