Marco Verratti has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he will not play for them again amid rumours of him wanting to join Barcelona.

Verratti is said to be valued at around £88m by PSG, which Catalan giants Barcelona may be willing to pay, but Juventus will not push ahead with a move having spent big 12 months ago to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli.

The Italian midfielder is being chased by both Barcelona and Chelsea, with Antonio Conte a long-time fan of a player he coached with the national team.

Meanwhile, The Independent claim that the 24-year-old will cost Barca around €100m, and so that presents its own problems for the Blaugrana, as they will likely have to sell others in order to raise the necessary funds to acquire Verratti.

New Catalan boss Ernesto Valverde is planning a clear-out at the Camp Nou this summer and sees this as the flawless opportunity to make a cull with the minimum amount of effort.

Verratti's agent and the Ligue 1 club are believed to have held talks after the Coupe de France final at the end of May.

"Juventus will certainly do something special in the next transfer window", Di Campli told Tuttosport. We'll ask for a meeting with the club to discuss Marco's future. "We're not talking about Barcelona or other clubs, it's about projects". To be a champion you have to win. "Leonardo, who at the time was the PSG sporting director, brought him to the club for €11million and he's grown with PSG as well".

"It's hard. I think it's a deal which is still out of the scope of Italian clubs".
