Putin's dinner with Michael Flynn: I didn't even really talk to him

"Russia had no channels of communication with neither campaign, the campaigns of the US Presidential candidates". He said there may have been non-Russian hackers from anywhere that simply blamed Russia.

Kelly kicked things off by reiterating that intelligence consensus is that Putin ordered a campaign to interfere with the election. Right now, I think we have representatives from a hundred American companies that have come to Russian Federation.

In several cases, Putin said he was not even aware of contacts reported in American media. Trump himself has been dogged by questions about any business dealings with Russia as well as reports of a damaging Russian dossier.

The FBI is now conducting an investigation, led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller, into Russian attempts to interfere in the last US presidential election, including whether there could have been any connection to associates of the Trump campaign.

Putin again denied any Russian involvement in the US presidential election and any knowledge of Russian contacts with the Trump campaign. That seemed to confirm what US intelligence services have been saying all along.

Bottom line: Rough launch for Megyn Kelly, but score one for Vladimir Putin, and his horn-print. "They aren't analyzing the information in its entirety". "I hope you can let this go".

Putin, for instance, dismissed Kelly's questions about repression and the killing of journalists in Russian Federation by saying it was another example of American moralizing.

Mr Flynn was sacked in February after misleading the White House about his ties with Russia's envoy to the US.

Flynn has so far not been granted immunity in exchange for his testimony, and he has invoked his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination and declined a Senate Intelligence Committee subpoena.

Pictures show the two men at a table for 10 at an event sponsored by Russian television network RT, which French President Emmanuel Macron has denounced as a source of "lying propaganda" in the recent French election.

"No, I haven't... because if there had been something meaningful he would have made a report to the minister, and the minister would have made a report to me. And I got up and left", Mr Putin said. There was a time when he used to come to Moscow, but you know, I never met with him.

"If this theory is correct and that can't be ruled out, then what could be easier, in this day and age, than using all the technical means at the disposal of the intelligence services, and using those means to organize some attacks and then pointing the finger at Russian Federation", he said. "I didn't even really talk to him [at the dinner]". "That's the extent of my acquaintance with Mr Flynn", he added.

Flynn, a retired lieutenant general, briefly served as an adviser to Trump's campaign and later as the president's national security adviser.

Mr Putin denied the hackers were from Russian Federation or swayed the U.S. election in favour of Donald Trump. "You created a sensation out of nothing, and. you turned it into a weapon of war against the current president".
