According to IndieWire, Steven Spielberg (who directed the original series) is on board to help develop the reboot along with Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Since then, Warner Bros. has reportedly been in talks with Amblin Television about a potential addition to the series. Running from 1993-1998, the show produced a total of 99 episodes. It also spawned a spinoff of one of its popular segments, Pinky and the Brain.

Animaniacs was a widely beloved show in the 1990s. Animation. Fans can thank Netflix if this new version ultimately comes to pass, because the original series has apparently "experienced a new surge in popularity" since it became available on the streaming service previous year. Now Animaniacs looks to be the next in a series of reboots from the '90s and '00s. The most famous of those were the three siblings Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, as well as Pinky and the Brain. There was more comedy in one full revolution of Daffy Duck's bill than in entire seasons of Jakko, Wakko and Dot.

What are your thoughts about the Animaniacs making a comeback? Spielberg is said to also be a part of the new version of Animaniacs, which is now in early development. But they were just a small part of the series. During it's run, Animaniacs was a ratings' success, winning eight Daytime Emmy Awards.
