Tiger Woods found 'asleep behind the wheel' by police

Tiger Woods was asleep in his Mercedes-Benz when police came upon him in the early hours of Memorial Day, and he told the Palm Beach County Sheriff's officer that he had been coming back from playing golf in Los Angeles.

Legendary pro golfer Tiger Woods was asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and confused but cooperative when he was arrested early Monday morning in Palm Beach County, Florida, on suspicion of DUI, according to a police report released Tuesday.

Woods also told police he had been using four prescription medications including the powerful painkiller Vicodin, which is commonly prescribed following surgery.

On Monday, Woods said in a statement that alcohol was not involved and that he had "an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications".

He said: "What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications".

"Whether this is just a misunderstanding ... or if he had some medication problems, a mixture of some - I really don't know", Stricker said.

"Woods had extremely slow and slurred speech", the report said. On that particular test, Woods said he understood what was being asked of him before saying, "Yes, recite the entire national anthem backwards". Breath tests, however, showed no alcohol in his system.

When police gave woods some field sobriety tests, he "did not follow stimulus and was not able to conduct a horizontal gaze nystagmus".

Woods is scheduled to be arraigned July 5 in Palm Beach County on the DUI charge.

The arrest and a police mug shot showing a disheveled looking Woods raised speculation that his multimillion dollar contracts for product endorsements could be jeopardized.

Last week it was revealed that Tiger Woods underwent a fourth back surgery to hopefully correct his lingering health issues that have kept him off the golf course once and for all and get him back to competing on the PGA Tour. I asked Woods if he had taken any illegal drugs to which he stated no.

Jupiter (NBC) - Tiger Woods was busted early Monday for allegedly driving under the influence in Florida. He was booked at around 7 a.m. Monday and freed on his own recognizance at around 11 a.m.

"I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved", he said.

Woods has 79 career victories on the PGA Tour, second only to Sam Snead.

Court documents say there were six witnesses to the arrest.

Woods took a break from professional golf and later apologized for having extramarital affairs and for letting down both his fans and his family.

He eventually was cited for careless driving and fined $164.

Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods have finally confirmed today that they are legally and finally divorced!

The last several years have not been great for Tiger.
