They have spoken at length about the PlayStation 4 version of Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time, but have rarely mentioned the Nintendo Switch version which is due out this fall in Japan. In the ad, you'll see elementary school kids huddle around a Dragon Quest strategy guide, office workers watching a trailer before a meeting, fans waiting in the rain for a new release, and more. It will be a complete edition, which will include versions 1 to 3 of the game; It will cost 4,800 yen or about 40 euros. Those looking to give it a try during its test period can do so beginning July 19 through August 10, with 16 GB of storage required on the Switch for the test version of the game. The Switch version will debut in Japan on September 21 for 5,184 yen (about $46) and the monthly usage fee to play the game will run about 1,000 to 1,500 yen for three to five characters.
Square Enix made the announcement during a live stream event for Dragon Quest X, when it first showed off footage of its popular MMO running on the Nintendo Switch.
