"It's not ideal, obviously", Braun said after Thursday's game, per MLB.com's Adam McCalvy.

"I thought Zach pitched well", Brewers manager Craig Counsell said.

Orlando Arcia's double was the lone extra-base hit for Milwaukee, which has lost four straight and may lose slugger Ryan Braun for several games with a calf injury. The Brewers have allowed 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five straight games.

Milwaukee Brewers' Jonathan Villar drives home safely on a Hernan Perez RBI-single off Arizona Diamondbacks' Andrew Chafin during the eighth inning of a baseball game Friday, May 26, 2017, in Milwaukee.

ATLANTA (AP) - Ivan Nova (5-3) allowed four runs and 10 hits in 8 1/3 innings, and Adam Frazier hit a three-run homer.

"Same calf, same situation", Braun said. Guerra started against Arizona, making his first appearance since being sidelined by a strained right calf on opening day.

"I feel really good", Guerra said earlier in the week. "They know what needs to be called, and I have all the trust in the world in them". C Manny Pina (left elbow) was available to pinch hit Friday. Chris Owings added his own solo shot to open the second, providing more than enough support for Ray, who scattered two hits over seven innings.

The calf injury is nothing new, as Braun just returned Sunday from a brief disabled list stint before aggravating the issue Thursday.

Brewers starter Junior Guerra only had one miscue in what was mostly a pitchers duel.

While the Brewers are slumping, Arizona is playing some of its best baseball of the season.

Diamondbacks: RHP Zack Godley (1-1, 2.45 ERA) makes his fifth start this season and second of his career against the Brewers.
