Beating out U.S. favorites Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes, BTS scooped the Top Social Artist award at a lavish ceremony in the T-Mobile Arena in downtown Las Vegas.

The performer and songwriter said she was caught in a "whirlwind" when she and marine biologist Adam Gouraguine married in 2012, separating one year later. "Yes. And I can do a five-minute plank, just saying".

Cher's late husband Sonny Bono also told her the same thing, but the singer defied the odds and has enjoyed a hugely successful and lengthy career.

Earlier in the BBMAs, Drake had won an award for Top Male Artist.

Singer Cher just celebrated her 71st birthday, but that didnt stop her from flashing the flesh on stage at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. She impressed early with her rapping skills to show her love for Nicki Minaj, then tried a heartfelt rendition of Dion's "The Power of Love". The group won the Top Social Artist Award, pitting them against the likes of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Selena Gomez.

Wearing a nude bra which featured a heart-shaped nipple pastie, Cher protected her modesty with silver strands of jewels to show off her age-defying physique. But she was peeved to have to share his adoration, calling out, 'what about me?' as Drizzy also complimented show host Vanessa Hudgens, 28.

Under a glittering chandelier and dressed in a Met-worthy white gown, Dion wowed the audience with her performance and earned one of the biggest cheers of the night. Ed Sheeran sang "Castle on the Hill" from Santiago, Chile, while Bruno Mars performed his silky new single, "Versace on the Floor", from Amsterdam.

Meanwhile, Sean "Diddy" Combs celebrated Notorious B.I.G. on what would have been the hip-hop legend's 45th birthday. Diddy also introduced CJ Wallace, B.I.G's son, who spoke about his father's legacy.

Other noteworthy wins included The Chainsmokers as top dance/electronic artist and top Hot 100 song with Halsey, Florida Georgia Line as top country song, Blake Shelton as top country artist, and "Hamilton: An American Musical" as top soundtrack/cast album.

"I felt like the luckiest guy in the room 'cause Gwen was here with me anyway", he said.
