Liverpool join the race for Tiemoué Bakayoko

Chelsea are ready to launch a £39 million offer for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports in France.

Monaco's 22-year-old central midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko appears poised to leave the club this summer, with four major clubs now in active discussions with the player's entourage, according to RMC.

Bakayoko, 22, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea apparently interested in the France global.

Chelsea are preparing a major offer for Tiemoue Bakayoko.

According to the Telegraph's Matt Law, we also having passing interest in Thomas Lemar and Benjamin Mendy as well, but Bakayoko is the priority.

If talks go smoothly, the report suggests that Bakayoko could even become Chelsea's first signing of the transfer window as Antonio Conte looks to begin a £200m overhaul of his squad this summer.

Bakayoko is also on Manchester United's radar.

The newspaper claims that Chelsea will open negotiations with Monaco once the season ends next week with a deal expected to cost the Premier League champions around £42.7m.

Batshuayi was the unlikely hero this season, scoring the goal against West Brom that gave Chelsea the title.

The fact that they could get Batshuayi, who was prolific for Marseille before his move to Stamford Bridge last summer, as part of the deal may tempt them to do business with the Blues.
