Today, Manchester United are linked with Jan Oblak...
David De Gea's future at Manchester United is in doubt with Real Madrid once again circling around the Spaniard. Sources have told ESPN FC that, although United will fight to keep De Gea at Old Trafford, they are realistic about the chances of him moving on and have received positive signals from Oblak and have sounded him out about a deal.
Courtois and De Gea remain the frontrunners to move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer should Zinedine Zidane decide a new No.1 is needed.
De Gea was not called for United's game on Wednesday against Southampton in the Premier League, a substitution that reportedly surprised him.
He's already an experienced campaigner and prior to joining Atletico helped Benfica win a domestic treble in 2014 and reach the UEFA Europa League final, keeping 22 clean sheets in 28 matches in the process.
According to The Mirror, Atletico stopper Oblak is the figure United want and they are confident a deal can be struck, with the Slovenia worldwide keen on making the switch.
United would demand a world-record fee for a goalkeeper of £60million, if they decide to sell the 26-year-old.
"Now with the confidence that Jose gives me and the confidence the players give me, the confidence for me is very important and I will try and do my best for the team".
