Separate school bus crashes on opposite sides of the state have killed two drivers and sent students to the hospital.

According to a news release issued by the Ashland County Sheriff's Department, the teen died after the vehicle he was driving slammed into the rear end of a school bus on State Highway 112 about two miles south of Ashland. Two were taken by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center, and the others were taken there by bus for evaluation.

Highway C is closed between Highway 83 and 258th Avenue both east and westbound and will remain closed as the investigation continues.

The sheriff's office told WISN 12 News a van hit the back of a bus that was stopped. The van's driver died.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. on Highway C west of Rt.

Beth, whose daughter attends Westosha Central, but does not use the bus, said the crash triggered his parental instincts.
