The Steelers' 2017 schedule reveals itself as one that presents certain categories of games in bunches. That game is the first of five nationally televised games and is the Sunday night game of the week.

CLEVELAND- The NFL released the 2017 schedule on Thursday and the Cleveland Browns open the regular season at home against the Steelers.

Until last season, the Steelers had never played on Christmas during the franchise's illustrious history that dates to 1933.

The next week, the Steelers return home to Heinz Field face the Minnesota Vikings on September 17.

"We have a lot of work in front of us before we get to the point of playing games, but we've had a good first week to start the offseason program", Jackson said. It may be a nuisance and may also frustrate fans who will now only see seven regular season games in Cleveland this year, but it is good for the Browns brand. In 2016, the Steelers hosted the Baltimore Ravens in what was the franchise's first-ever game on Christmas Day, and this year they will play the Texans in Houston, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. ET.

Week 8: Sunday, Oct. 29 at Detroit Lions at 8:30 p.m.

September 24 at Indianapolis Colts at 1 p.m.

In Week 11, they'll face Tennessee in primetime on Thursday, Nov. 16.

November 26 at Cincinnati Bengals at 1 p.m. The following week they will have their bye (Nov. 5) and then travel to Indianapolis on November 12 to take on the Colts at 1 p.m.

"I guess you would say they are expecting us to be in it down the homestretch this year and they want to feature us that way", Rooney told

September 17 at Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m.

The Browns play no more than two in a row at home or on the road but finish with two straight on the road, at Chicago (on December 24) and Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh gets a shot against New England on December 17, but this one is at home for a 4:25 p.m. kickoff.

October 29 in London against Minnesota Vikings at 9:30 a.m. On Monday, Dec. 4, the Steelers will be in Cincinnati before coming back to Pittsburgh and facing the Ravens six days later, on Dec. 10, at Heinz Field.

8 - Jacksonville, 1 p.m.

November 16 Tennessee, 8:25 p.m.

November 12 at Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. His last loss to the Browns on the road came in 2014 when the Steelers were beat 31-10.
