There will be fewer releases for the basic enterprise version of the Office and Office 365 ProPlus because Windows 10, Office 365 ProPlus and Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager are now aligned on the same schedule.
Today, Microsoft pledged itself to a new release schedule for Windows 10, for which the Redmond company promises to release all major features during two update periods, one in March and one in September, each year. One, they can tell Microsoft, via the Feedback Hub app, that this or that program shouldn't be throttled. The original Windows 10, released on July 29, 2015, will receive its last security patches next month, probably 9 May.
However, it also puts pressure on Microsoft's software teams to hit the targets each March and September.
No more needing to say later this year or sometime this fall when we are discussing the release of the fourth major feature update for Windows 10. It is not clear what Microsoft plans to introduce with the new update, which will roll out in September. The company rolled out the Creators Update in April this year for all Windows 10 users. It's now three months shy of the 2-year mark and Microsoft is not yet at the halfway mark-it notes that there are more than 400 million monthly active devices running Windows 10.
Windows 10 has been referred to as the "last version of Windows," and this regular update schedule points to that actually being the case.
That update, known by its code name of Redstone 3 right now, has already begun its development cycle and is now expected to be released in September 2017. In short, the scripts that he has created, work as they are meant to; they patch Windows DLL files and skip the part where it checks the CPU version, resulting in updates being released for Windows 7 and 8.1 platforms. These changes reflect our commitment to help make it easier to deploy and service Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus.
Windows 10: What do you know about Microsoft's latest OS? Others can not be uninstalled this way however, and the Move apps option worked for a short period of time but has been inactive for the most part of its existence.
You can expect to hear a lot more on Redstone 3 - and perhaps even future releases - at Microsoft's Build conference next month.
