Knee injury sidelines Jazz's Rudy Gobert for Game 3 vs. Clippers

After being the forgotten man most of the season, the former No. 3 pick in the draft has been thrust back into the spotlight.

"I was trying to just stay on the court to tell you the truth", Paul said.

"Hayward's one of those guys that you can't get to", Rivers said.

He needs to get there quickly.

Jordan finished the first quarter with 10 points and five rebounds to expose the Jazz's lack of height with standout center Rudy Gobert sitting out with a sprained knee suffered during Game One.

The Jazz allowed backup center Jeff Withey to play, but he appeared overmatched.

Going into the second half, the Jazz adjusted to the Clippers' change of pace and continued to stick around before cutting the lead to three on a bucket from forward Derrick Favors. They've already shown that they're capable of beating the Clippers without him, but in a long series LAC has a clear-cut edge over the Jazz without that guy on the floor.

Two days after being cut by the Clippers, the Jazz claimed Ingles off waivers.

So with all that playoff experience, coupled with 1,388 regular-season contests, Rivers knows a thing or two about the different between winning in the playoffs and winning in the regular season.

"I thought we did a good job of. getting the ball inside", Griffin said. Stuff like that I got to adjust to. I knew there were five seconds on the shot clock and I wanted to get to my spot.

Joe Ingles sat in the Utah Jazz locker room with ice packs on his knees and a big smile on his face. "I'm sure they'll bounce back, and we've got to be ready to go". "The paint doesn't necessarily mean DJ or Blake". If they get (defensive) help, they get it to Blake and DJ. "The ball is just moving around a lot and we have the ability to attack". Yeah we want to do that again. They also shot just 8 foul shots the entire game. LA's plus-22 differential in points in the paint is what many expected would happen after Jazz defensive stalwart Rudy Gobert fell in the opening moments of the series. That's not to say the Jazz haven't been trying to force him into mistakes by making his life hard, but the guy is just too smart and good to give him any kind of breathing space. He's gotten tips on where to align himself on certain plays and screens, in addition to working on other offensive moves with his athleticism still not where it once was. "That's the challenge", Snyder said. "He's fighting through some fatigue. So being able to get out of a crutch, that's more progress than maybe we thought". He's doing that, he's trying to do that. Hill had 16 points in the Game 1 win.

Without Gobert to patrol the middle, the Clippers easily had their way. Chris Paul has to lead his team to a win tonight or their playoffs is going to be coming to an end. "But overall, I think he has a pretty good feel". "That's a personnel issue". The Gordon Hayward also the another key player of the Jazz, he scored 19 points on 7 of 18 shooting with ten rebounds.

The Bulls host Game 3 on Friday. The incredible rally ruined Paul George's big night. Cleveland trailed by 26 in the first half and was still down 74-49 at halftime.

Ingles started the game and played 32 minutes, including a key role in the final play that opened up veteran forward Joe Johnson who cut to the basket and floated a jump shot that bounced on the rim and then fell through the net for the game victor as time expired. Making this blowout even more impressive was that they barely needed All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
