He shared the story while on stage in Glasgow the other night.
Ed Sheeran confessed he is now stuck with an incorrectly spelled tattoo after his actress pal Saoirse Ronan purposely wrote "Galway GRILL" instead of "GIRL".
Remember last week when the filming of the singer/songwriter's music video for his latest single "Galway Girl" caused a literal mob scene on the streets of the Irish city?
According to The Sun, Ed was in Galway filming the track's upcoming music video when his co-star, actress Saoirse Ronan, made a decision to give him some new ink to mark the occasion.
"When we were filming it, I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl", he said on stage, holding up his right forearm, where the tattoo presumably resides, for the audience to see.
The singer already has more than 60 tattoos so it probably won't be quite so noticeable! "G-R-I-L-L. She really took the p**s out of me - full on".
According to The Sun, Ed told his Scottish crowd: "The tattoo actually says Galway Grill".
"I'm actually kind of proud of her", Sheeran insisted.
Kevin - who has worked on a host of stars such as Rihanna, Harry Styles and James Arthur - told BANG Showbiz: "Ed is wonderful for taking the pain. Not me anyway." At least things are clear.
"Ed now has thirty tattoos on his front, plus countless ones down his arms".
