Billie Lourd's Tribute To Mother Carrie Fisher

Billie portrayed Lieutenant Connix alongside her mom in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and she will reprise the role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Incredibly (and tragically), Fisher's famous mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, died one day after her daughter. She was very strong, very smart, very amusing, very bold, very tough, and there really wasn't much of a question. Lourd herself is an actress, and though she hasn't received the same cult status as her mother, audiences are sure to keep an eye on her progress from now on.

Billie Lourd on Thursday made her first public appearance since the deaths of her mother, Carrie Fisher, and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, appearing at a Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, in a white dress evoking her mother's iconic character, Princess Leia.

The tribute video had revealed that Fisher still memorized Princess Leia's message to Obi-Wan in A New Hope, and her daughter Billie had apparently memorized the dialogue as well.

"When Carrie came in, she was that character". "She loved you. She loved these movies".

So much like her mother in so many ways- it was nearly as if we were cuddling our Princess again!

She said: "My mom, like Leia, was never afraid to speak her mind".

(She was) the strong soldier of a woman who often openly fought her own dark side, knowing early on that we all have a dark side to fight, whatever it may be. How you resisted. In our world, Star Wars became a religion and a way of life. I want somebody very young.

Secondly, she taught me that if life isn't amusing, then it's just true, and that is unacceptable.

She added, "She taught me by her own example, that the most evolved person is seemingly a contradiction - they are both the strongest and the most vulnerable person in the room".
